Nara, Japan

With over 1000 stone lanterns guiding you to the Shinto shrine, this place is definitely one of the most unique

religious places that I have ever been. Peaceful and serene, people are encouraged to remain as quiet so as to

help keep the meditative atmosphere free from distractions.

Although I didn’t get to see any on this particular day, there are many deer roaming freely throughout this area.

Deer Park is located close by.

Deer are able to roam freely and are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods that inhabit the shrine and

surrounding mountainous area.
