Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

There are a handful of moments in your life that you will remember forever. This is one of mine.

While on safari in Kenya, our driver stopped in the middle of the road. He was looking into the distance at a cloud of dust. We sat there for a few seconds, and I realized that the dust cloud was getting closer.

Then, out of the dust emerged an entire herd of big, grey, wild elephants. We sat and watched silently as they hurried across the road, as if they didn’t want to hold up traffic. Trust me, we didn’t mind the delay.

And time seemed to stand still, just for a moment.
