Christ the Redeemer
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
It’s one thing to see the Christ the Redeemer statue in pictures, his arms outstretched over Rio De Janeiro like a protector, so tiny at the top of that steep mountain.
It’s quite another to actually stand at the base of him and realize how huge the statue really is, to see how sweet and peaceful his face looks, to notice the folds of his robe and the details of his fingernails.
And then, to turn around and look out over the city of Rio, realize how incredibly steep and high up this mountain is, and wonder…how the heck did they do this?!
