New Delhi, India
While strolling around an outdoor market on a Sunday, I saw something unique in the distance. The closer I got to it the more confused I was. Was this a sculpture? It looked like a lotus flower, but it wasn’t until I got close enough to see people walking in and out of it that I realized it was a building. An incredibly unusual, beautiful building.
The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a Bahá’í House of Worship completed in 1986. Notable for its flowerlike shape, it serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and has become a prominent attraction in the city.
