Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Food. We have a familiarity with food that we don’t really notice until we’re somewhere far away from our familiar surroundings, and all of a sudden simple things like language, manners, and food are unknown to us. This little fish market on Lantau Island was alive with people, colors, smells… It was just another day to these people, so familiar with their surroundings. The cultures we live in are each so unique and different, but we don’t notice the little differences, like food, until we are somewhere new.
